Import desktop6.ndk from Lotus Client 7.0.3 to Lotus Client 8.5

Hi guys. I wanted to try the new version of Notes Client (8.5). Can i import desktop6.ndk from Notes Client 7.0.3?

Subject: Yes…

8.5 will update the desktop6.ndk file to desktop8.ndk…it will do it automatically if you’re just doing an upgrade. If you’re installing it separately, what I’ve done in the past is just delete the desktop8.ndk on the new install, copy over the desktop6.ndk file and restart notes which will force the update of the desktop file.

Thanks for the answer, but in the directory ibm\lotus\Notes i don’t find desktop8.ndk.

Are you running a Multi Client?

Check your registry for the data folder location.

As a added Note we have seen that the desktop6 is not upgraded if you are using the Symantec desktop protection software. All services have to be stopped and to make sure of this set to manual so they do not restart during the install.
