Hello,
we have some strange problem reading mail messages through IMAP client on Nokia Communicator 9300. It seems that Notes-to-Notes messages get some strange encoding which Nokia cannot handle whhile messages from the Internet are OK.
This is on Czech (Central-East Europe) encoding.
This is a bit complicated since the messages can generally have at least 3 different charsets - ISO-8859-2, Win-1250 and UTF-8.
I got the impression that Notes databases are UTF-8 encoded, but this bugs me.
When I use other IMAP client (like Thunderbird) everything is OK.
I submitted the problem to Nokia but they claim everything is OK with them since sending and receiving through Exchange works fine. They think the problem is with our Domino setup.
But I frankly cannot see what should I change (if anything at all).
Here is what they sent as a response:
"Forwarded those two mails to Exchange server and there both mails are readable (both shown as UTF-8 encoded - as I think should). I’ve also sent couple of mails from Lotus Domino (6.5.2) server to the 9300 and those were readable there as well. Now if I try to copy/paste text from that unreadable mail to Notes email client, text immediately becomes unreadable as it is on 9300. Tried to set encoding to iso-8859-2, win-1250 or utf-8 (which I believe all should be correct?) and to use proper fonts, no change. So I would suggest that the customer could check/change the encoding settings from the Domino side to see if that helps. "
Similar problems anybody?
