IMAP configuration with internet site documents?

When trying to configure an IMAP Internet Site I face the strangest behavior:

load imap

06.12.2010 22:39:22 IMAP Server: Starting…

06.12.2010 22:39:23 IMAP Server: Started

06.12.2010 22:39:38 IMAP Server: Connection attempted on , but not configured in IMAP Internet Site Document

06.12.2010 22:40:53 Lookup of IP address for host host.domain.no failed (-> this might be an issue since the configured host is not in any DNS, yet)

06.12.2010 22:43:34 SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for <for what?>

BUT! How come I get this error? AND: How come the documentation is not better?

Also, I fear that this might be a bug. After trying to configure IMAP i started getting

06.12.2010 16:15:05 SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for

06.12.2010 16:15:05 SMTP Server: disconnected. 0 message[s] received

This is how the messages appear in the console. In the log, however the lines are separated (first line in miscellaneous and second in mail routing) making it harder to debug.

Every attempt to send an SMTP email to the server is rejected with error message:

“SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for”

“SMTP Server: disconnected. 0 message[s] received”

To get the mail routing going again I deleted the IMAP site, told the IMAP task to quit and issued the command “tell smtp update config”.

The Domino server release is 8.5.2 HF16 with Norwegian. I switched to US Domino Directory, however, just to make sure the DD design was not the problem.

Please tell me how to handle this!

Best regards from Ove
