When messages containing images are send over internet via smtp then only grey square appears instead of the images. The formatting of text is preserved. Is it a problem of server configuration or client config ?
Subject: Click Show images
HTML-formatted emails in R8 do not automatically pull the image files that the html refers to. Yo have to click “Show Images” which is a link in the top of the email.
I am sure this (not pulling the images) is done in order to prevent spammers from knowing that you have read their email.
Subject: Preference
Additionally, you may set your client to show images automatically, from the Preferences, Mail, Internet, Image Security, uncheck “Do not show remote images without my permission”
Subject: but the pb is for outgoing messages from Domino to…
external mail. For incoming messages, there is no problem. But if sent a message with embedded images to xxxxx@hotmail.fr for example, then images are replaced by grey squared when reading message with hotmail
Subject: server stripping
You can look at the message in your Sent view to see how it was sent to the server. If it looks OK there, then your server is stripping it, or maybe you have some 3rd party application doing it?
