Image preview in Windows Explorer

Hello,

some of our users (edit: I mean some reported this issue, it is not known that this behavior only happens to some users, while it works for others) reported a lack of image preview, which happens when accessing "HCL Connections" > [MyInstanceLabelName] > "My Files"

The same file in a regular local folder outside of the CNX desktop connector:

And using the "My drive" Entry from the Desktop Connector, it works too. This issue is reproducible with the imho latest version:

Is there a way to fix this or do we have a bug? I'd expect to have the preview when configured in the Windows Explorer as in any other folder.

What do you mean by "some of our users"? Do only some users report it or do only some users have this problem, while others have not?

Also, can this file still be opened, if there's no preview?

I meant that some of our users reported this issue.

The file is fine, it can be opened without problems. It also affects all files, so it seems that this behavior is not related to a single file. I tried multiple images, also in different formats, none of them worked. For example, here are some of them:

My previous comment at this spot was not correct. I see what you mean. Not sure though this qualifies as a bug. Connections Files is for sharing files in general, not specifically for pictures. I would be more like a feature request, and it looks like someone else had the same idea:

It helps to vote for the idea and get others to do so as well.

I think, Windows handles local drives and network drives differently when showing those icons. Since network access is slower and more costly, it uses the standard icon instead of icons representing the file's content. And the Connections "folders" are obviously handled as network drives?!
