IIS with Domino on Windows XP?

Hi,I spent two days trying to configure IIS with domino on the same machine without success !

I saw al posts, domino help and the redbook “Lotus Security Handbook sg247017” but no one had made it with this configuration :

  • IIS 5.1

  • Domino 7.0.1

  • Windows XP Professional

Can any one tell me if it’s possible to make it work

Any inputs will be appreciated

I’m fed uo with checking and checking again the same configuration ! so I decided to use windows 2003 server …and it works ! I had done the same things, and the first test was a success …so I can say that with windows XP Pro, it doesn’t work…

Hi,

I don’t know why you’ve tryed this. Windows XP is a client workstation, not a server.

TCPIP is configured for one user connect to servers, not a bunch of users connect to it.

I never knew there is IIS for XP, but you can be sure there is no Domino for windows XP.

Daniel

Hi,thx fo your post,but:

  • First there is IIS into windows XP and it runs very well (hhtp, ftp)

  • Second we can’t say there is no Domino for windows XP because Domino can be installed on the windows plateforme and windows XP is part of this plateforme

  • Third, I know that windows XP is not dedicated to be a server but I’m using it for tests purposes and there is no differences between it and any other server dedicated version of windows that can affect Domino

…

Again thx for your post

Sorry for the delay to answer this.IF you read carefully the requirements for a domino server you will see windows 2000 or windows 2003, BUT you will NEVER see windows XP. You can try to be more expert than others but there is a big difference in the TCPIP stack between a client and a server machines. I will not explain what I can’t give details, but the different versions of windows are different, and a domino server can’t run on a windows XP machine. IF you want to test it, test it on the same platform you will use on the real life, that’s the purpose of the test environment. You will also check a lot of configuration settings while in the test environment.

But do it as you wish.
