ID VAULT qUESTIONS

Hi All,

I have some questions regarding the ID VAULT.

1.what is the minimum time ( Or after what time) for the passwords to sync when end user change password on his workstation ?

  1. Should "Check password "must be enabled in the person document in Address book for the ID vault t o work , if yes what is the right way to implement using policies.

And last question .

  1. During the registration of the person , we need to check at least one item from below or both for proper implementation of ID Vault.??

I. “In Domino Directory”

II. “In File”

Thanks

There’s a great deal of good information under the “Notes ID vault” tag in the N/D wiki:

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/xpViewTags.xsp?categoryFilter=Notes+ID+Vault

… but to touch on your questions explicitly,

  1. If the password is changed while the user is on-line, the change will sync with the vault immediately. Once the new password is reflected in the vault, the user can restart other Notes clients and type in the new password, not the old password, and will be able to launch Notes. The password information never travels “down” from the vault to the client; the vault allows the new password to be used instead of the old password on initial login.

  2. Server-based password checking is not required for the Notes ID vault to operate.

  3. No. As long as the user being registered falls under an organizational policy that would assign them to a vault, the newly generated ID file will automatically be uploaded to that vault.
