I am a novice seeking help.I received Notes 6.5 (with the rest of Smart Suite) gratis with my Thinkpad in December 2004.
I have since been using Notes 6.5 as a viewer (and searcher) of two databases of my personal emails which I am carrying from past employment. That is, I have two .nsf files, one 650 MB and and one 350 MB, of pre-December 2004 emails, which I still must read.
I installed Notes 6.5 on my Thinkpad in such a way that I never have to enter a password. I never considered any security issue.
Now Notes 6.5 is warning me that my ID file will soon expire. The renewal process requires an administrator which does not exist.
In “Notes Certificate Advanced Details” it says that a certificate issued to /MY NAME was issued by /MY NAME, on the date when I installed Notes 6.5. Type: Notes certificate authority.
My questions are:
What will happen when my ID file expires? Will I not be able to access my .nsf files (databases)?
If so would reinstalling Notes 6.5 today give me a fresh ID file with 2 years of life?
Is there any way I can renew my ID file, or bypass the whole security routine?
Thank you.
