Any Idea?
Subject: ID Already Exist but i want to recreate it because i dont know the pass
You can register again the person with the same name, select “None” as the mail system (to not create any new mail file) and choose the location for the ID file. This will find that an entry with the same name already exists in the Domino Directory and it will ask if you want to update the entry. Just answer “Yes”.
After that, don’t forget to modify the person document to re-activate the mail system to Notes and to fill in the location of the mailfile.
Hope this helps,
Christine

Hi Elaha,
Is ID Recovery configured on your domain.
If it is you can recover the password from the ID. Search Administrator help for “id recovery”. The list of topics should give you all you need. If it isn’t configured I recommend you do it now.
Your alternative to using ID Recovery is to use the Administrator process to delete the user but opt not to delete the mailfile. Then, recreate the user without creating a mailfile and manually edit the new person document to point at the old mailfile.

Or a very handy way we use…(certificates get alittle annoyed but we dont mind)Copy an ID you know the password for. Rename the file to reflect the account.
In Domino Admin… Configuration Tab - Certification > ID Properties…
Enter password for ID
Your Identity>Your Names… Name Changes…
Advanced options…
Obsolescent name…etc
Enter in the name for the new account, okay your way out etc
Oh and recertify the ID
It may grumble about certificates when you use it but OK it and it should work away.
Slan!
