first: sorry for my typing style, but i have a broken arm! just typing with one finger instead of ten!
with the new workplace as a welcome page you have the possibility to add icons to the launcher frame in the lower right corner. but these icons will also appear on the left with the ‘normal’ bookmark icons. if you delete an icon it will be deleted in both places.
if you delete the bookmark.nsf and notes reates a new one during startup the management of the icons is independent. there is no more connection between the two places.
i tried a replace design for the bookmark file but it did not help. any ideas???

When you launched the Workplace for the first time, did the Launcher have any icons in it or was it blank by default? (proper behavior is that it is blank by default)
Also, can you possibly check your bookmark.nsf file in Designer? If so, please look for a folder called “More Bookmarks\Workplace Launcher”. Do you see it there? If not, please open bookmark.ntf (template) in designer and see if the folder exists in the template. Replace design should have placed this folder into your bookmark.nsf file.

thanks for your answer, Debbie,the first time i opened the workplace, the launcher had all bookmark icons. i deleted some icons in the launcher and was surprised that alsp my bookmark icons disappeared.
i opened bookmark.nsf in the designer. the folder is there.
today i installed a new client on a new pc. then the launcher is empty and you can place your icons as desired.

I’m having the same problem. We are currently migrating from Notes R5 to R6. If you migrate a existing user with a existing bookmark.nsf, then there’s some kind of link between the bookmark bar and the launcher. If you don’t supply a bookmark.nsf then there is no such link (this should be the standard behavior).
Did you find out anything that helps to solve this problem?

It is indeed a bug in the german bookmark.ntf. To avoid the strange “connection” behaviour of the launcher and the bookmark bar go to the design and to the outline “userbookmarkorder”. Go to “weitere Lesezeichen” → “Workplace-Starter”. Edit this entry and make sure that it has got the alias “Workplace Launcher”. Reopen your Bookmark and there you go.
