I’m experimenting with creating calendar entries from an external source. Eventually, I want to be able to auto-schedule appointments from email sent from a non-notes system.
I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what the expected behavior of the Notes client is supposed to be. I’m using Notes R6.5.
I have successfully created a Notes calendar entry from an .icl attachment using the following steps:

A meeting was created in Outlook and mailed to my notes account.

The incoming message landed in my mailbox with a .icl attachment.

I doubleclicked on the attachment and clicked view

I chose to import the meeting.

A few minutes later a new message appears in my inbox - it’s a meeting invitation. I accept and it appears on my calendar.
Could somebody please verify that that is as sophisticated as it gets? I thought I read somewhere that with R6 it was suppose to recognize the attachment and present the meeting invite to me right away. I was a little disappointed that I had to deal with the intermediate step of importing the invite from the attachment.
Any help is appreciated.
