IBM Notes FP2 on Win7 Virtural Machine

Hi All,

Platform - Win 7 Virtual Machine

Notes Client - 9.0.1

When I try to install FP2 on my existing notes 9.0.1 client, at the end it comes up with a message “The wizard was interrupted before IBM Notes 9.0.1 FP2 could be completely installed.”

Do you have any idea what might be the cause please.

Subject: Besides the install log, could you help to provide the install sequence?

Could you help to provide the install sequence? It will help us to reproduce the issue.

901 → FP2 or 901 → exact Hotfix/Addon → FP2?

Subject: Same issue

I’m running into the same issue with Notes 9.01 FP3 SHF255. When I try to go to FP4 I get the same message. Also running Windows 7 on a virtual machine.

Did you ever find out what the issue was?

Edited to add my Solution:

I figured it out after finding a hint in the installer log. It couldn’t rename a directory /jvm. I tried to rename it and was not allowed since another process was holding it. The only other process was the VM Parallels v10.0. I turned off Share Windows folders with mac and was able to install FP4.

Please use startcollector.bat to collect the logs. The startcollector.bat is in the Notes RCP subdirectory of the Notes client framework directory, e.g. c:\Program Files\IBM\Notes\framework\rcp\ for Notes 9.x. In case startcollector.bat failed to execute, please manually wrap up below logging folder/files?

  • The folder workspace/logs, workspace/applications, workspace/.metadata, workspace/.config
  • The folder <Program Files (x86)>\IBM\Notes\framework\rcp\deploy
  • The folder <Program Files (x86)>\IBM\Notes\framework\rcp\systemdata (if existed)
  • The file $user/Document/IBMNotesInstall.log, and $user/Document/IBMNotesInstallerLog.cab

Im already having Notes 9.0.1 client on my Win 7 VPC, which I was using for last couple of months with out any issues. Issue was when I try to install Fixpack 2.
