My disk space in my server domnio is full.I can’t add disk in the server because all the emplacement is full.

I don’t want to change my server because he works very well and the speed is excellent.

The things I want to do is to buy an external disk .

What solution offers for me to to have more disk space.

I think about solution ‘BOX NAS’ ( external disk ) to put the big database an all others … , but I don’t know how it can works ? After How can I say the NAS ( 5OO GB) depending of my domino server ?

What can be the configuration t do that ? is it simple ?

it can’t be folders - directory link because i see a techonte wj says that folder link work only with disk in local and not mapped drive … i a very surprise of this …

Please give me your technical experience and to give me a solution who works … of my problem

Domino is very easy to move because it doesn’t do things to the registry.

I’m hoping that you have your Operating System on one disk and Domino on another.

That being the case, the BEST solution would be to replace the second disk (or the entire RAID Array). If that wont work for you, then the alternative is to add an external drive.

Recommendation - If you’re only using about 500 MB, buy one of those external Maxtor USB Drives and copy the Domino data drive onto it.

That way, you can add your new disk, reformat etc whatever without having to panic about whether or not you can quickly and easily restore your data. (ie: you can forget about tape drives for this upgrade).

Of course, the maxtor drive would be for convenience, you should still run a normal backup.

it is not 500 mo to add but really “500 GO” , so your solution of external drive maxtor isn’t good.

Maybe you can try zipping the attachments stored in your DBs… you may save nearly 30% of space… You can try ZipMail at www.mk-net-work.com
