Go to administrative tools / service and start the lotus domino service.

When you install a domino server on a windows server, you can close the server, then go to Start > Run > Notes.exe
(You might need to specify a path to where you installed the core Domino server files)
A notes client will open up, but you will be using the server (and the server.id). All Local databases are the server’s databases. You then can manipulate/access the address book or other databases.
Indeed it is not recommended you install a client on the server. It’s a huge security risk and risks confusing the server installation and causing problems on the server.

Not a recommended practice to install a client on the server. You should keep them on different machines.Having said that you can do it.
Either create a connection doc pointing to your servers IP address or point it to 127.0.0.1
Easiest way is open the client. Go to File > Database > Open and in the dialogue box where it says server key in IP address or 127.0.0.1
Hope this helps
