Http redirection on basis of IP address

We have some proxy servers for internet browsing. Considerable number of users browser is not configured properly to have exceptions for local traffic directly going to local server, instead it is redirected via proxy server.

The user open the browser type abcmail.ing.com, the user traffic get directed to proxy.ing.com and proxy.ing.com redirects the traffic to domino server. The users are seeing considerable delays .

We want to set up a static page for the users, if the traffic is coming from the proxy servers, instead of getting the authentication page they gets a static page, to modify there browser.

I know this is not a issue with domino, but for the end user the perception is always domino. We do not have control over the desktops configurations, so modifying the desktops is out of the question. We also do not controls proxy servers. This issue is only for internal traffics.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

This will be hard on the server level. On application level however it’s relatively simple. the CGI variable “REMOTE_ADDR” will contain the IP address, so you can use some JavaScript to check for that and redirect them to a page of your choice.

Extra thought: People probably have to login for most applications. Put the code on your login page. As it’s a form already it’s very easy to implement.
