I have been upgrading to the newest HTMO plugin for Outlook. I have the following challenges. Let me know if you have any feedback. Does anyone use the Outlook HTMO for a large number of users? I have struggled with the releases for the past few years.
1) Registry Repair prompt not working via the GUI (Command Line works) - HCL Pending Case; We've seen this before but it looks like its back in this release.
2) Outlook HTMO Plugin Disable - After the installing the new version with Outlook 365 the plugins for HTMO will get disabled. You need to enable them during the initial sync. If you don't and wait, you need to recreate whole profile and also remove the devices/users from the server 1st - Looking for additional information to send to HCL on this one if you have any thoughts or leads.
3) Repair of profile will cause Outlook to crash and you need to recreate a new Outlook Profile.
In Outlook - Home -> Options -> Addons -> Manage Items - Disabled -> Enable HTMO Plugin
I do have the new version installed 12.01 on the server side.
Have a great day!
These issues are well known. That’s why we’re waiting for Project Quattro to be released to replace HTMO
Great news, do you know the time frame or how I can get into the beta for that?
Thanks - Kevin
I do want to clear up some confusion around Project Quattro. Project Quattro, also referred to as the Open client, is a strategy of providing an api/protocol layer that can be leveraged by 3rd party clients. The first iteration of this is support is targeted to provide exchange web services support for accessing Domino mail. From an Outlook client perspective, only the Outlook client on the Mac can leverage EWS. Outlook on Windows cannot leverage EWS. Therefore, the open client, at least with regards to providing EWS support, is not a replacement for HTMO.
I don't have an ETA on a beta for the Open client. I'm sure there will be plenty of visibility when it does become available.

Thank you for the info.
Is there any plans to improve the HTMO client for Windows to make it more stable in the works or will HCL be waiting for EWS support in Outlook for Windows?
Thanks,
Kevin
Kevin. I can answer the 2nd part of your question. I certainly don't speak for MicroSoft but I have no expectation that they would implement EWS in Outlook for Windows. MS has deprecated EWS. An engineer from the HTMO team will respond on your original points on HTMO.

Thanks! I have been working with them on these issues with some testing. I hope they can figure out something long term for improving the overall product.
