HTML /MIME issue?

When forwarding a message that appears to come in as an HTML message, all the pictures are stripped out as attachments. This happens using the Notes client, however, using INotes, the message forwards ok. Any ideas how to change this so the Notes client does not strip out the pictures? Thanks.

Forwarding to where? An outside Internet email address?

If so, you need to edit your location document and set the filed “Format for messages addressed to internet addresses:” (found on the Mail tab) to “MIME format”.

You are probably sending Notes CD and CD to MIME conversion at the server will do what you describe, rendering in-line images as attachments.

Christopher,Thanks for the quick reply. I am talking about sending notes mail to an internet mail address.

I am using an email sent from HP as a test. When I send it to personal internet accounts, whether it’s hotmail or an isp, it still doesn’t come across the same as if I sent it from my notes web mail. If you make a change to the cd for MIME/Conversin Options/Outbound to “from notes to plain test and HTML” that didn’t seem to work either.

That change you made was at the server and the problem is at the Notes client. Try sending native MIME from the Notes client.

Christopher, that seemed to have worked. I have another question for you if you don’t mind. Some emails come in with [IMAGE} some text maybe another [IMAGE} and some of the [IMAGE] notations and text are vertical. Is this something that takes place on the person sending it or is it happening on our server/clients? Thanks.

That is MIME documents being converted to CD at a Domino server. Set users’ preferences to “keep in sender’s format” to keep native MIME on inbound messages.

Got side tracked with other issues, imagine that. I guess I am not sure where to look for this option is. Can you elaborate? Sorry. Thanks.

It’s not global – look on each Person document (Basics tab, Mail section.)
