How user can report spam to Spamassassin?

Hi,

I have a SMTP gateway with Spamassassin on Domino (Domino 6.5.5 FP2, Windows 2003) environment and now I’m looking a way to my users report a spam to my Spamassassin on a Linux environment.

I thought to create one user named ‘spam’ and ask my users to forward all spam message to mail spam, and my Spamassassin would access this mailbox by POP3. My problem with this solution is because the iNotes is dropping the SMTP Headers.

Now I’m thinking if its possible to do something to ‘move’ a spam message to this spam database. As like, give everyone access for this database e create one folder on all users named ‘Spam’, and when my user move the spam message to folder ‘Spam’, this message will be moved to a spam database.

It’s is possible ? There are someone with experience to report spam to Spamassassin ?

Thanks all,

Subject: How user can report spam to Spamassassin ?

We don’t use spam assassin, but I do collect user-reported spams.

I have users move their spam to the “Junk Mail” folder, because it is going to be the same on all mailfiles. But you could use any folder, just know that if users can modify it then you won’t be foolproof.

On the database I collect the mail into, I set up an agent that runs daily. I have that agent signed with the serverID. HEre is a sampling - not hte whole script -of what this agent’s uses:

Dim dbdir As New notesdbdirectory(srvr)

Set db1 = dbdir.getfirstdatabase(DATABASE)

While Not(db1 Is Nothing)

If Left(db1.FilePath,4) = “mail” Then

dbname = db1.Filepath

Set db=session.GetDatabase(srvr,dbname)

Set userview=db.GetView( “Junk Mail”)

Set collection = userview.AllEntries

Set entry = collection.GetFirstEntry()

While Not(entry Is Nothing)

Set userdoc = entry.Document

Set newnotesdoc = userdoc.CopyToDatabase( trapdb )

Call newnotesdoc.PutInFolder(trapviewname)

userdoc.Remove(True)

This should give you a good start.
