Hello,

I would like to be able to view the corporate contacts while I’m offline or not on the corporate network. Is there an easy way to do this?

There is a much easier and efficient method to “carry around” the corporate domino directory with when you are off-line.

Use the Condensed Directory Catalog [aka: Mobile Directory Catalog]

It’s been out for years, configuration is simple and straightforward, and you gain the benefit of the mobile directory footprint being extremely small and lightweight.

As an added benefit, you can deploy the mobile directory catalog without user intervention or , touching the desktop.

Refer to the Domino Administration Help database for instructions how to setup and deploy.

Yes, it’s been around since R5 I think. More resources pointers at “Domino Directory FAQ” (google it).

Hello,

If you are allowed to create replicas in the ACL, you can create a replica of the database on your local machine. With the database open click File → Replication → New Replica. If it’s the server directory (names.nsf) you will need to give it a different name.

and with either of the above examples you need to add the directory to the Local Address Books field in user preferences on the mail tab. Should look something like this:

names.nsf, contacts.nsf

or you can edit notes.ini on your computer:

NAMES=names.nsf, contacts.nsf
