How to move documents from an old idvault to a new idvault

Hello all,

is it possible to move documents from an old idvault (password lost) to a newly setup idvault?

Dominoversion is 12.0.1 FP1.

Many thanks for hints.

Hello @Hubertus Dicke ,

Unfortunately it is not possible to move the old vault documents from old Vault to new ID vault DB.

You need to update the security policy with new IDvault DB and wait till policy is updated in Notes client s and user IDs are automatically uploaded to new vault DB from Notes clients.

Thanks & Regards,

Hello Hubertus,

For each ID vault on the server it will have different "Vault Operations Key" and hence you can't copy the document from old to New Id vault.

As shown below there are two ID vaults on the same server with different "Vault Operations Key".

As you said you lost the password for old idvault. ID vault ID password is required only when you wanted to create Vault database replica on the other server. Else with the current settings your vault operation should continue to work.

You can create and assign new security policy to the users which has new ID vault name. So that it will start collecting the ID files in the new vault from the Notes client when the policy is pushed.

Other possible workaround may be from the existing Vault database you can extract the ID files to a location and then upload the ID files to the new vault database using the below feature on Domino 12.0.x.

**Extracting of the ID files from vault database is a manual process for each user.
