When I open the notes client from the menu or the desk top icon, how do I get Notes to open a database directly without going first to the welcome page or the workspace?

Hi Bob,
you have quite some options:
-
Open that destination once and drop a bookmark to it on the bookmark bar, then right click and select “Bookmark as welcome page”. But this is a very permanent solution
-
Change your shortcut and add the database name (relative to the notesdata directory) - you can copy the shortcut, so you would have one for “pure” Notes and one for your DB
-
Open your destination and do “Edit Copy as Link” Then open Notepad and Paste the content (looks like XML). Save the file (on the desktop) with the extension .ndl. Doubleclick brings you back there
-
(My favourite). Create an URL in your favorites or your desktop or your website or wherever. The format is:
notes://servername/database/view/document
Save it – voila (We use this technique for transition periods from Notes to Domino)
Hope that helps!
Subject: Put the db bookmarks in the “Startup” folder.
They will launch window buttons, but not consume system resources until activated.
