How to hide the mouse pointer or get it out of way

I’m surprised I haven’t been able to find posts on this subject. It appears that some actions in Notes 9 make the mouse pointer (beam, actually) hover right above the cursor which is distracting.

You can push the mouse beam away (outside of the message body, for example), but then any mouse action seems to return the beam right above the cursor which obstructs the view of what’s being typed.

Can this be eliminated or mitigated?

I am not sure if I had the same problem in Outlook and other clients (I don’t have them installed any more), but with Notes 8.5.x and 9 I noticed it within few days of using the program.

Subject: Mouse pointer

There is no such problem in outlook. But this is strange in Notes client. But, the pointer (beam) disappears when we start typing.

You can move the beam aside, but it will reappear when you hit the space bar.

Alternatively if you work in extended screen mode, you can move the (beam) onto the other screen (the screen you are not using) and the (beam) will not appear when you hit the space bar.
