How to give a link to a document in an email

Hi All,When we send email within the organization rather than attaching we want to give the link to the document.

eg: \FileServer\Docs\Document1.doc

I tried, giving the link & making it a Link HotSpot. But when the reciever clicks on the link, it tries to open the link in IE(in the Notes Client) & it says, page cannot be displayed…

How can I make this possible.
