How to encrypt existing documents

Hi All

I want to encrypt few fields in a form. I did it it’s working fine when I compose new document.

I want to encrypt the existing document fields with the new encryption settings

I tried like this…

  1. I have edited and saved the existing documents

this method also not working

Please help me if any one knows how to encrypt the existing documents…its bit urgent.

Open document properties and click on the tab with the key. You’ll find the document encryption settings there. Note that this will only result in the fields that are marked for encryption being encrypted, so you may need to edit the design of your database if none of the fields are currently encryptable.

Please check “Encrypt” method of notesdocument and “IsEncrypted” method of notesitem class.

As per your suggestion I have checked out.

In the help the explanation has given about the mail document.

I am trying to encrypt only few fields for the existing document of the normal database (not mail documents) documents

Its working fine but few documents are not encrypting I could not able to trace out the reason.

I am new to lotus notes. Please any one can help me in these Two cases

The encryption status is showing as 2 in the document properties of all the documents which are encrypted

Even though only few documents aren’t encrypting. Without having the encryption key we can able to see the encrypted fields data of these documents.

The rest of the documents are encrypting properly if the encryption status is 2

We have more than 4000 documents. I want to check each document. Weather is it encrypted or not, if not I want to encrypt that particular document like that I have to run it for all documents.

Please respond its very urgent task
