With IC7 the Sharepoint Widgets are available. Currently we do not like to use them and therefore I have customized widget-config.xml and have set the paramter to "false" not showing the widget in the palette.
But within Highlights there is still the "SharePoint Library" app. As this app is visible for everybody, we like to disable it. I do not see any option within Highlights and there is no documentation how to disable Apps.
Any ideas?
Hi Karl,
The CEC documentation states the following: "Your highlights page will include a collection of widgets that mirror the apps already available in your community."
That's from item 2 at the following URL:
https://help.hcltechsw.com/connections/v6/user/communities/c_com_highlights_widgets.html
Based on that, I'm guessing that the Highlights page in new communities will not have the SharePoint Library widget, but please test and verify that. If that's not the case, please open a case with HCL Support.
If the Highlights page in new communities does not have the SharePoint Library widget, I think it's just a matter of manually removing it from older communities. However, since this may include a large number of communities, you can open up an HCL Support case to look into whether or not there's an administrative way to remove the widget from older communities.

Hi Tony,
in widget-config.xml I have allready disabled the widget from the palette:
widgetDef defId="SharePoint Library" modes="view edit fullpage" showInPalette="false"
The App is not visible anymore under "Community Actions" and "Add App".
I guess in Highlights, there is another App, because the configuration seems to be a bit different. Anyway the link, which you have provided, is pointing to the description how to add available apps to the highlight page. But it does not say, how an Admin can decide which apps are available for endusers in general.
Hi Karl,
The main thing I was pointing out in the document is that the default widgets on the community's Highlights page are whichever widgets were in communities when the Highlights widget was added to the community. For example, here's a test I just performed:
I created a new community and deleted the Forums widget. I then added the Highlights widget and found that the Forums widget was not on the community's Highlights page. I then created another community and kept the Forums widget. When I added the Highlights widget to the second community, the Forums widget did get added to the community's Highlights page because the default widgets in Highlights are whichever widgets were in the community when Highlights was added.
So in your case, I don't think you'll see the Sharepoint widget in the Highlights page of new communities now that it's been disabled in the widgets-config.xml. However, I don't know if there's an administrative way to remove it from existing communities, or if it has to be removed manually by the community owner. That can be investigated via an HCL Support case.
I hope this helps.
Tony
Hi Tony,
I feel we are talking about different situations. I have modified this parameter showInPalette="false" in widget-config.xml for the widget "Sharepoint Library". This makes this widget unavailable in "Community Actions" and "Add Apps".
For Highlights there are two different notations.
1. Widgets
2. Apps
And I am talking about "Apps" which contains "SharePoint Library". What ever action I take, it has no effect at this level.
As mentioned I just set showInPalette="false". Do you remove (comment out) the whole widget definition in widget-config.xml?
Hi Karl,
I tried commenting out out a widget in the widgets-config.xml and it got removed from the community overview page, but not the Highlights page.
I suggest opening a case. If you do, please include a screen shot so it's clear what you're referring to by Apps which contain SharePoint Library.
