How To decommission the Lotus Notes application from the server

Hi All,

I would like to decommission one of my lotus notes database from server, But i am not sure where and all effect for deleting the file (.NSF) from that server…Could you please tell me what are the steps we need to follow to decommission the lotus notes application (Database).

In Domino Administrator, select the database (under Files), right click, choose Delete Database and specify what you want to do. Adminp will handle the rest.

You should talk to your administrator, he/she should know this, it is very basic stuff.

You should have a process you follow when an app is no longer needed. What you do is going to be driven by how your business works.You could:

Disable all agents.

Change the ACL to disallow any access except by devs/admins.

Remove the db from the catalog.

Leave everything in place in case you need the data for historical references or think you might need to bring the db back on-line.

OR

Copy the db to archival media for long term storage.

Delete the db from the server.

OR

I’d be very careful about deleting the db unless you knew you really will NEVER need it again and/or you KNOW you have a safe copy you can restore on demand.
