How to batch-enable "Show in Database Catalog" on all databases?

Hi everyone,

We are migrating an application server that we took over from another support group and we need to analyse all of the databases on it to know replication schedules, frequency of use and all that good stuff. We found the best tool for the job (so far, called Domino Explorer 1.1), but it looks in the database catalog to pull most of the info.

Problem is a lot of applications databases don’t have the “Show in database catalog” option set. How can we batch-enable that setting on ALL databases (including ntf’s) on the server?

Would anyone know a tool to do this?

I found an example od DBProperty from the Sandbox which is a routine we can add in our own db, but I was hoping that there was something else we could use without having to do too much coding (tight deadline on this).

Any help?

Thanks!

ALL of the databases are already in the Catalog, they just don’t show in the normal views. Open your catalog.nsf while holding Ctrl/Shift and you will see hidden views. Click All Documents and you will see all databases.

But if you must enable the property then cycle through the databases using the NotesDbDirectory class and set the option using the ListInDbCatalog property of NotesDatabase

This would be a nice feature to have in the administration client…

Sure would…

Paul, thanks for the info. I was sure that the db’s would not be showing in the catalog at all if they didn’t have that option in.
