How many groups that I can create in names?

I have 2600 users, and have 570 groups in my names.I know the number of groups is not limited(over 30,000 Groups in IBM names). my business is splited many “blocks”(maybe crossed), and different person follow the different “blocks”. so I must use groups(and use roles) to differentiate them, so that they can read and receive the application. I see using ACL to control it in database.

my question is:

how many groups is proper with 2600 users(recommend)? the rate is ?

I want to know what is the rule ?

Bob, Recommendation for 2600 users can not be really given. It depends on how you want to group them, if you want to group them according to departments like IT, Engineering, Management, Finanance etc… or by their roles like Admin,sysadmin etc…

so you can group them according to the heirarchy in your company…

the groups that you said is used in my names. I want to create new groups for other business in my application, and the group members belong to different department(maybe). but they are to do the same thing(cooperation).

in other words, I can create many groups according to business in my names(2600 users), i don’t sure.
