How do you set up a Mail-In database to use an Internet Certificate for S/MIME?

We are getting ready to set up an existing Mail-In database to receive S/MIME messages from a remote web application. The database is currently configured to receive mail from the internet, and has been receiving mail for several years now via a Mail-In database record. The database is based on the standard mail template, and the ACL is set up so that multiple users from one of our departments can access the database signed in under their own IDs. My question is what is the best way to set up this database for S/MIME.

I can see that the Mail-In database record has a field on the Administration tab for an internet certificate (currently shows a state of “Not Available”.) The users do not currently have an internet certificate for their Notes accounts. I know how to create an internet certificate via the CA, and have done this for some of our users. How do you create one for a Mail-In database. Assuming I can create a certificate for the Mail-In database, would I be able to export that certificate and import it into multiple user IDs? Can a user ID have multiple internet certificates (personal - wsmith@mydomain.com & mailin db - sales@mydomain.com?)

I have looked at the “Get Certificates…” button in the Mail-In database form, and it does not seem to apply.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Bill
