Does any one know how to prevent end users from choosing “Send Copy To” in There Mail Rules but still be able to create other Rules. Or really I just to prevent users from Forwarding there emails externally when using this Rule.
Subject: How do you Prevent Users from Forwarding there Emails Ext when there using Mail Rules
Please note…this will stop this altogether, not just msgs fwd’d externally. So this may not be the most helpful. We also thought about modifing the Rules options in the mail template, but this was easier as we don’t allow any FWD’ing, internal or external.
I’m making the assumption your running at least 6.5 as you did not pick a specific server or client version when you posted…
As outlined in the Admin Help (just search for “send copy to”)… Create (or modify) a server config doc. Go to the Router/SMTP - Restrictions and Controls - Delivery Contols tab and set “User rules mail forwarding” to disabled. You can do this for “* - [All Servers]” or create a config doc for each server. Once enabled, you’ll see a msg similar to this in the Mail Routing events: “Router: Admin has disabled auto mail forwarding of message.”
The users will not get any errors and it will look to them like the rule worked. It will even show a little “forwarded” icon next to the message in their inbox, but it will be at the far left next to the “Who” column, not next to the Date column as it is displayed if you manaully FWD a message.
