How do I prevent my address being displayed as the Sender in a Mail In Database with Alternative Sender configured?

When I reply to an email in a mail in database my name is displayed as the sender although the alternative sender function is activated in the preferences. This problem does not occur when I directly send a mail from the mail-in database. Then only the mail-in address is displayed as the Sender. To solve the problem I can click on "From" and select the mail-in database address.

Is there a way to prevent my own mail address from appearing when I answer an email?

Hi Andrew,

May I know what version of mail template are you using?

Also, is the 'Automatically use internet address of Mail-in database as sender' enabled as well?

Please see documentation below for reference.

Enable shared mail files to send mail using an internet address by default

If that feature is enabled but still getting your internet address on replies, the alternative way is to select From manually and change it.

Select an alternate From address in a shared mail file

I use the HCL 12 FP5 template. The alternative sender is configured exactly as in your first link. The alternative method explained in your second link solves the problem.

Is the Mail in Database a Custom Database or it inherits the design from mail template?

If it is custom database , the send action could be programmed to solve your issue. Other wise a custom send button for send action would solve the issue after hiding the default send action buttons.

Unless of course what Jho Labayani has suggested helps & if your mail in database inherits design from mail template.
