How do I install xulrunner on Ubuntu 8.04? (needed for internal browser and Sametime)

From Simon Butcher posts I learned this:If you install this version you should be able to use the internal browser and Sametime:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/xulrunner/releases/1.8.0.1/linux-i686/en-US/

You may also need to set MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=installed location.

Is there a step-by-step checklist for this installation on Ubuntu 8.04.1 ?

Hi,

Not quite sure if 8.04.1needs to install xulrunner, 8.04 is the supported platform for Notes 8.5.

For 8.04, do no need to install xulrunner separately with recent builds. The prerequisite to use internal browser and Sametiem is to add the missing “libstdc++5” by installing the lib manually(“$ sudo apt-get install libstdc++5”)

Thank you for your advice. Now I can use Sametime as well as the internal browser, and the RSS feeds work, too.

In the Synaptic packet manager of my Ubuntu 8.04.1 I find the xulrunner versions 1.8.1.13 and 1.9.0.1, and they obviously work fine.

So much for checking dependencies. Was a fresh install of 8.04.1 32-bit.
