How do I find a bookmark target?

I am running a standalone version of Notes 7. When I click on the Mail or Calendar bookmarks (on the left side), it says it cannot open the bookmark because ‘File does not exist’.

How can I determine the target (the database) that this bookmark is trying to open? I tried copying the bookmark to the clipboard and pasting it into Notepad, but that just shows the name of the bookmark (e.g. “Mail”). I don’t see any way to get the properties of the bookmark.

And how can I create a mail and calendar database to use on the client?

Thanks.

Has it stopped working or are you a first time user ?Do you know the server and the location of your mail file on that server ?

Are your able to ping the server ?

Your location document does not have the correct path of your mail file that you are trying to access - that’s why the error.

From Lotus Notes toolbar click File → Mobile → Edit current location → in the ‘Basics’ tab, verify it has the correct location type (LAN, etc.) → in the ‘Servers’ tab make sure it has the correct home/mail server → in the ‘Mail’ tab make sure it has the correct mail file location, mail file, domain, etc. → if you made any changes click on save & close button above.

The bookmark for Mail, Calendar on the left side usually follow what’s in the location doc so if you have the correct info there it should work.

The mail file field is blank in the current location. This is a standalone client (trial version).

I created a mail file from the mail7.ntf template and added the new file to the mail file field. Now it works.

Thanks,

If you just installed Notes 7 from somewhere and you are trying to setup mail/ calendar, you have to understand that it is just a front-end client that displays your mail information.

It requires you to have an e-mail account on some mail system (eg: your company, your ISP, etc.).

If you don’t have an e-mail account on any system yet, it won’t work.
