How can I restrict an user (having the privilege to delete the documents) to delete documents directly from the view?
I need to create an Action “DELETE” in the form and the user can only delete the documents by opening those in that particular form and by clicking that button.
Please help me.

The database script in each database has events for QueryDocumentDelete and PostDocumentDelete. In the QueryDocumentDelete event you can check which view the user is in and simply set Continue = False if you want to veto the deletion. I have done this a number of times and it works like a charm.

Hi…
You will have to do some work for that. At first remove the deletion rights from the user in the ACL. Then in the button on the form call an agent signed by somoene with manager access to modify ACL and change the ACL for the USer. Then use command liek doc.remove in lotusscript to remove the document.
This seems to be the only way as there is no way you can prevent user with deletion rights to SEE the Document and Delete it from view… (Unless use is not given the deletion rights)

The agent will have to made by or run on behalf of a person who has a manager access to the database.
