Hi designers,
I run a filtering agent on a view (it changes the selection formula) and I want to show the actual filter value somewhere (best would be the “header” = the action bar.
The only way I get a partial success: I append that filter value to the view’s aliases - and show it in an action button label with @subset(@viewtitle;-1), but
1 - I don’t like that very much … (manipulating with aliases??)
2 . it shows up only after a restart of the client (at least a reopen of the db).
I also tried it with environment variables, but it looks as if I cannot access them in action button labels.
I’m sure there must be a much more elegant way …?!

I can’t think of a way to do that.
I may not understand what you want. Is it simply a descriptive header? I’m not sure you’d want it in the action bar, unless you want to assign an action to it. Do you want it to be clickable?
A possible option: Use an embedded view in a form. Above the view on the form you can have a computed field that will display whatever you want.

Hi Russ,
yes, it should be a descriptive header. I did not find any other way to place info in it than into the name or label of an action. That action has no other function.
I think I cannot use form + emb. view because these are shared, private on 1st use views, and users want to print them (not only the embedded visible part).
the users can change “their” personal filter on that view, or a highlighting colour coding (via colour columns). But they should see what filtering/highlighting they have done.
