Hi Carl

I don’t understand you.

I think Carl is suggesting you use a stopwatch to time how long each task/click takes: open database, switch view, open document, etc…

What you need depends entirely on your employer’s requirements. Jean-Yves’s links for further reading are very useful if you actually wanted to fix this database, or make sure others don’t fall into the same traps, but if as you say, you only want “technical documents” to justify deleting the database to your boss, then you need to find out from your boss what specific technical details you need. Then go to Tivoli and see if you can get those details.

Hi Helen:

I got it now, as you say i noly need a justification to erase the database or evidence that isn’t the server that slow down the application, but i think it is interesting the use of tivoli, how can i configure to check the use of any application?

Hi Daniel,

Look in the admin help, for the word “Tivoli”

Look on Google for : Tivoli Analyzer for Lotus Domino

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/IBMTivoliAnalyzerforLotusDomino6.0.html

In R6, you will have to install a little program named : Tivoli Analyzer for Lotus Domino.

In R7, it is already include in the admin console.

Hi Daniel,

Very slow? Which part, opening a view? Saving/Opening a document? Do you have readers fields in your application, etc.

YOu have Notes7, so you have Tivoli integreted in your Domino Admin console. Server Tab\Performance.

ALso ,you can use the Client_Clock notes.ini settings of the Notes client. Keyword : Client_Clock

Hi Jy:

Everything in the application is slow, views, open document’s, autoedit documents, etc, this application was made by a desperate user that doesn’t know how to program, and to be able to remove it of my server i need to measure its performance technically although at first sight it is seen that the application works very slow.

These are my situation.

Hi Daniel

Is this the only application that is slow? Does this app, slows down other applications, other users?

Do you have a good server? What are the specs?

How many users in the db? How big is the DB? How many docs? How many views? Any date time formula in your views (@now, @today)in selection formula or column formula?

Hi JY:

Yes, this is the only application that is slow, it was made by an user that is an amateur developer, just for hobbie and for desperate, i saw in operation and it’s very slow and do a lot of strange things, and my boss says it to me to remove that application we need technical documents, and that’s why i’m looking how measure the performance using lotus administrator, bacause for my, i only need to use a clock and wait.

For this can i use the Tivoli Analyzer?
