Is there a hotkey combination (for example Ctrl → F) which will open a search dialog box in a Notes Mail File?
This link provides the list of keyboard shortcuts for the Notes client; however, it does not include a shortcut specifically for mail file search.
We recommend submitting an enhancement request to have this functionality considered for future releases.

At present ctrl F searches for column values while in any view in any application incl mail.
Just to add—if you’re looking for a shortcut key for “Search this View”, you can use Alt + V, then E.
To access the Mail file search field in the upper-right corner, you can navigate using the Tab key. However, there is currently no dedicated shortcut key for opening the search dialog box.
Only Ctrl + F is available, which allows you to find text within a view.
