I searched the forum, even contacted IBM support, have no luck finding an answer to this:
I have two address books, the Domino Directory and a secondary address book used for mail groups only. The servers are currently configured to use a Condensed Directory catalog (I know extended is for servers, but it was set up as condensed by someone else).
I have several groups in the address books, which I want to hide from most users. I changed the “who can read this document” settings to be LocalDomainServers, plus a handful of users, and our Hub/admin server.
Everything was working fine, the groups were hidden from all but the people we wanted to see them, mail would still route, etc. Then last week, our Hub/admin server crashed. IBM Support identified the cause as corruption in our dircat.nsf file, and recommended it be rebuilt. Once dircat.nsf was rebuilt, the server remained stable. However, the ‘hidden groups’ were no longer listed in dircat. The only way I could get them back into dircat was to set the security back to ‘everyone can read this document’, and then rebuild.
So, my question is this:
Is the problem I am having due to trying to use hidden groups in a directory catalog? or is it caused by the fact that we are using a condensed directory catalog, when we should be using an extended directory catalog on the server?
