I have SMTP working for inbound mail on a Domino relay but I cannot get outbound mail going. I think my problem may well be specifying the destination host in the SMTP server connection document.
I expected that leaving the destination server field empty or putting an * there would indicate I wanted the domino server to be the smtp gateway itself. But that seems not to work.
In the alternative I have tried external smtp gateways, including that of our ISP, but all require the server to establish an authorised connection with the gateway. The Server Connection document doesn’t provide any fields for establishing credentials.
How is this done?
