Hello,
I need to set up a rule/agent to forward email to my personal email address. I don’t know the first thing about Lotus Script. I did a search and found what I think I’m looking for here:
http://www.keysolutions.com/NotesFAQ/canforward.html
I copied and pasted the entire script into a new agent - changing the forwardaddress = “test@test.com”
to my optimum online email address. It worked, but it didn’t retain the original sender’s name or email address. It DID retain the subject line, though. Was there something else in the script that I was supposed to change? I want to be able to reply directly to the sender, and have it look like it’s coming from my Notes email address.
As always, TIA for any/all replies. This is a wonderful forum!!

What about filling in the forwarding address in the NAB (if you don’t need to keep the original in your notes inbox) or creating a rule on all documents which sends a copy to your 2nd email address ?
Good luck !

Thanks for your reply, Ilse. I do need to keep the original in my Notes inbox. Creating a rule will forward the mail just fine, but it doesn’t retain the original sender’s address, and I need that…

In this case use the forwarding address in the domino directory - so the original senders address will retain and no document will stay in the notes inbox.

Hi,
You can add a field called “ReplyTo”, populating it with the sender address.

Hello Marcia,
just don’t know if you’ve found a solution - I did.
Just add these two lines before the "forward.Send False, forwardaddress " statement:
forward.from = doc.from(0)
forward.Principal =doc.from(0)
The forwarded message then has a new field Principal, which is not present when you use the script without these two lines.
And this will retain the original sender’s address and you can answer to such a forwarded message as if it was sent directly to your private account.
