Four of are employees on Blackberry’s are experiencing a problem. When they accept or declining a meeting request on there Blackberry they get a red X and the person who sent the request is not being notified of the acceptance or decline. It just doesn’t seem to be syncronizing with the calender. If anyone has experience with Blackberries and this problem please, please help. Even some suggestions of things to try would be much appreciated.

Ususally with a red x, a blackberry service has failed. You can try bouncing the BES server. What version of BES are you running? Are both the Calconn and schedule manager running on the server?

Hi Felice
You lost me with Calconn? Could you please let me know what you mean and where to check. Is there something on the Blackberry I should check? Notes seems to look fine but if there is something you feel I should check please let me know. I have been stuck on this one for a week now and any suggestions would be great.

CalConn is the Domino server task that looks within the Free Time database and checks whether or not that user has a entry.
The Schedule Manager validates the users schedule and checks whether or not that are busy for certain dates and times.
If you go to the BES server and look at the Domino console, type in a SH TA…show tasks command and see if these tasks are running, if not, I would turn them on by simply typing:
load calconn
load sched
Question, when was BES installed? Has this always been a problem?
Subject: RE: Help with Blackberry acceptance
The bes was installed about a year ago. This feature has never worked. It is frustrating as we have 19 Blackberries in the company.
I went to the console Load sched was installed but load calconn wasn’t. I started it and tried a test, still didn’t work. Any other ideas? I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out here.

I tried the turning it off then on like you suggested, but it still didn’t work. I do believe it is something on the Blackberry but I am at a lose. Please keep coming with the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

It is 3 PM my time. Winnipeg Canada. I am only in for another hour. If I don’t get this resolved today please find this document tomorrow and continue to help you have been lots of asstsance. That goes for anyone who may have some solutions. Thankyou so much for the suggestions. Do you know of any setting on the Blackberry itself that could be off?

I’ve read the other posts here, and I am pretty sure this is not your problem, but anyway…
My handheld (7290) calendar for months was wireless sync’ing no problem, but then stopped a few weeks back. I had been messing around with roaming (getting the journal, Memopad to sync), then turned roaming off for myself, and changing a bunch other settings, so something must have messed it up.
On the handheld (I was clutching at straws here), I opened the Calendar, Options, Wireless Synchronization, which was set to “yes”. I turned it to “no”, then back to “yes”. Boom, instantly started syncing, invites started working again. I have no idea why, but that did the trick.

JR:
I see quite a bit of material on RIM’s support site about calendar invitations, RSVPs., etc.
I also see a number of items mentioned in the HotFix lists.
Since you never mentioned what version of the BES you’re running, it’s hard to pin down, but you could start looking here: vhttp://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/customview.html?func=llworkspace
