Hi!
I have a form with an author field on it. I am not sure I understand how this field really work so I would really appreciate some help.
I have following settings:
Type: Authors
Computed
Allow multiple values
And the code for the field looks like this:
@If((@IsMember(“[Requestor]”;@UserRoles)=1 & RequestSendStatus != “Sent”); @UserName;“”)
Is it possible to write a condition like this in this kind of field or do I have to do this different?
Thank you!
/Sandra
Subject: Help with author field
values authors/reader field must be like as “[Requestor]” for single or “[Requestor]” : “[Other_role1]” : “[Other_role2]” etc for mass roles

What you propose will work.
However, you have to be careful. For example, if an Administrator went into that document and saved an unrelated field (perhaps a spelling mistake in the title) then it would recalculate the Author field with the Administrator’s name and lock out the real user.
You can have roles and groups as well as names within an Author field (and you can have multiple Authors fields).
A better solution for what you have proposed might be to make the Authors field the [Requestor] role like this:
@If((RequestSendStatus = “Sent”; “[Admin]”; “[Requestor]”)
Obviously this is highly speculative since I don’t know your application.
