Help me analyze the situation

Hi all,

I am given a task to create something which i believe got to do with archiving.

The entire operation is:

  1. A document with sections for filling in of details (simple)

  2. Save the document in the database that is distinguish by its serial number(simple)

  3. If the end-user decide to change some section in a specific document, he need to call up the document using the serial number and do editing.(simple)

  4. After editing, he will save the document into the current database while the original one is to be save somewhere else for record.

So pple, the problem here is, for point#4, am i right to say that archiving can be used to solve the problem?

Thanx for taking time on this issue. Reali appreciate it

Hengshi,If number of documents is the problem u can move existing document to a diff. database while creating a new one from that document in current db.

If the change in document is small u can also think of keep working with the same document and by updating history with the change.

Keeping old documents as response of new changed document can also be an option if number of document is not a matter of concern.
