HCL Digital Experience 9.5 Container Update and CF 219 (All Versions)

  • Practitioner Studio - React 16, 17, and 18 theme profiles. Site designers and developers can now select from React 16, 17 or 18 when creating custom themes with pages created using Practitioner Studio.
  • Experience Framework – React 17 and 18 module support. Site designers and developers creating custom themes can now use new React 17 and 18 modules.
  • User and Groups REST API - Support for searching special characters is added to refine search results
  • WCM Query REST API – Support for new author query parameters is added to refine search results
  • DXClient - Multiple environment configuration option adds capability for IT leads and developers to define additional environments to execute specified tasks. In addition, access roles for deploying portlets and script applications have been updated.
  • Updated documentation for installation and upgrade from DX v8.5 & 9 to DX v9.5 – IT leads and administrators can accelerate planning and execution with updated Help Center instructions to apply the CF update to v9.5 process with their relevant DX offerings.
  • Updated Container Staging documentation – IT leads and administrators can refine planning, testing and transition from DX On-premises (traditional) platforms to DX 9.5 K8s container deployments with expanded guidance on transitioning from non-containerized to containerized deployments, moving multiple environments, importing into container HCL DX target servers, syndicating large libraries, and using resource environment providers.

  • Improved installation of Digital Experience V9.5 with CF update - IT leads and administrators benefit from new CF process update options that can add and manage DX platform upgrade to DX 9.5 for easier transition to DX 9.5.

Digital Experience 9.5 Container Version

  • DX K8s Deployments Container resource management - Administrators can now adjust the Helm values for CPU and Memory resources beyond the minimal values defined, in accordance with the Kubernetes Resource Management for Pods and Containers guidance.
  • DX K8s Deployments Helm options to spread pods across nodes. Administrators can now specify and prioritize the location of pods across nodes for improved control of K8s deployment task execution.
  • HCL DX Early Access Program. The goal of the HCL Digital Experience Early Access Program is for the community of participants to conduct review and testing of new components introduced for use with the HCL Digital Experience 9.5 software. Currently this program, available to all HCL DX customers and partners, introduces and updates the Open Liberty portlet container. Benefits of this portlet container based on Open Liberty include:
  • Use of later JDK and J2EE levels
  • Faster start and performance
  • Applications that are easier to write, can leverage open software, and work well for cloud native deployments
