Hello Forum,

we are facing the following problem.

In our company’s Domino Directory, we have several groups, including one group that contains all users.
This group with all users is a nested group, composed of several subgroups, which themselves contain further subgroups.

When a user creates a meeting and invites the group containing all users, Notes saves the meeting only in the user’s own calendar and does not send out the invitations.
If the user opens the meeting afterwards, the group no longer appears in the “To” field — this field is empty.

We suspect that the Notes client tries to resolve the group when sending the invitation, but fails to do so and therefore doesn’t send out any invitations.

However, if we append our domain to the group in the “To” field (e.g. Group@Domain), it works.

Does anyone have an idea why the client tries to resolve the group and how this can be prevented?
Or, if the problem has a different cause, does anyone know what it might be and how to fix it?

Best regards
Team Notes

Hi Notes_Helpdesk,

If you’re sending an invitation to a large number of people or to all the users, you can send the invitation as a broadcast(event announcement) instead. This allows invitees to receive the invitation and add it to their calendar without sending a response to the chair.

For the reported issue when sending invitations to nested groups, you can open a support case so we can conduct further investigation on this matter.

Thank you!

Best Regards,
Mikee
