We currently run a 5.0.12 Notes environment and we have multiple group documents that roll up into one in our N&A book to get around a field limitation restriction. We will be upgrading to version 6.5 shortly and I thought I read where we would not have to nest these groups due to the fact that the field would not have a limited number of characters and we could put as many entries in our “members” field on the group document as possible. Does anyone know if this is true? And, if you know of any documentation regarding this fact, could you point me to it. Thanks.

You may be better off keeping the nested grouos, especially if the sub-groups have a particular purpose. Makes maintaining easier. If you have multiple grous just to handle many names and for no other purpose, do what you feel is best.

AFAIK the limitation is still there - after all it’s a Notes field at the end of the day. I seem to remember that the maximum field size is now 32K rather than 16K at 6.5.
