Ghost in the machine

I had a test server set up ages ago, and once I was finished, I deleted it from the server. I have searched through all the config docs but cannot find any reference to it and yet, I get this message on the console:

Router: Connection from server SERVERNAME/ORGNAME not used; Server not found in Domino Directory.

I can’t search for it via decommision server or find thru the admin client as it doesn’t exist.

Does anyone have an idea of where it could be referenced, that the system is still thinking that it exists?

Many thanks, Teresa

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have gone through all the config documents - connections, server document, configuration doc - not a sign of it referenced anwhere…!

Try looking at the ($Connections) view.

Shift+F9 to rebuild the view index and then stop and restart the router.

You don’t still have any person docs that might be specifying this server as their mail server?

Thanks for the suggestion, but…um, errr…how would I see the $connections view? And from where?

Soz, I’m not a programmer alas, I am presuming it’s a hidden view in the server NAB?

If you could point me in the right direction, I’d be grateful.

cheers, T

Your mail router is trying to get some mail to/from the other server so it must be something that sends/gets mail. Maybe a mail-in database or an agent.

Hmmm, I’ve literally clicked on every single tab and option within the configuration section on the admin client - not a single reference to the server - the only reference is to our single main mail server. No mention of it in localdomainserver group either…

In the graphical replication topology view, it shows up too!!!

I’ll check out the mail-in databases now…

It’s so frustrating as I know it to do with the mail routing, but GAAAAHHH…where, o where …
