Ghost document

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can give a suggestion on the following strange behaviour.

I am referring to a web application that is showing a list of documents.

The problem is that I cannot find some of these documents when accessing the database from notes. Even looking directly throught the document unique id.

I checked if this could be a security problem, but it is not.

I tried to save the document via web, nothing changed.

I tried to delete the document via url, i got a http 500 error.

Could it be an internal problem of that database?

Thanks a lot for any suggestion!

ciao

perhaps a problem with the cache of the browser ?

I am afraid not…thanks anyway!!!

The last discover is that the document exists, I can find it when using a DBSearch also from Notes, but the views do not show it…

They are orphans response documents!!!

I will delete them through the agent that runs the DBSearch.

Hope this helps someone else…

Could well be a response document (has $REF field) that’s lost its parent. If your Notes views all have the “Show response documents in a hierarchy” switch (view properties, 2nd tab) set, a response doc cannot appear without its parent. If the parent is deleted, the orphan disappears from the view but remains in the db and can be seen sometimes from the web.Easiest solution for this kind of maintenance pb is to build a private view showing all docs, without this property set.
