My certification is in R5 CLP (development). I’d like to become at least an R7 CLP in Administration.
How do I go about this? Do I have to obtain an R6 cert. first?

I believe that the R5 to R6 single upgrade exam is no longer available. This means that you will have to complete the full R7 Administration program. Check the official CLP site for detaisl;
