Hi LN experts,
Need your help pls… My boss recently migrated his email from LN to Outlook. Whenever he receives email from our apps containing the notes doc link, he always receives “Access is Denied” prompt from Microsoft Outlook.
He has all the roles and he has Manager access on all of our apps. The weird thing is, he can open the document by going
directly to the LN application (of course bcoz he has manager access and he has [Admin] role which is the default author/reader)
Is it something to deal with MS Outlook. Thanks in advance.

thanks Paul…
Subject: Getting “Access is Denied” when opening notes doc link attached to outlook email
Yes, this has to do with it being launched from from MS Outlook, as it’s not pointing to the Notes id file, and therefore can’t authenticate to the Notes database, which I’m assuming requires more than default access.
Subject: thanks Brian…
thanks for the valuable input… Maybe it is also related to my boss having recently changed his email from “Jaime Doe” to “Jimmy Doe”?
Subject: Notes links are not URL’s.
Chances are if its a true notes link, it cannot be interpreted by Outlook. You need to place code in the application that sends the link to the document in the form of a URL.

hi J, thanks for your feedback… the link attached to my boss’ email is the converted notes doc link to the clickable icon which contains the url… My other boss who also migrated to outlook has no problem getting access using the clickable icon (they have the same Manager access level and the required roles to view the docs)
